HealthifyMe vs NutriPixel

HealthifyMe vs NutriPixel: which suits you in India?

Both apps log Indian meals from a photo. HealthifyMe adds an AI coach, recipes and coach plans; its Healthify+ Plan is ₹2,500 for 12 months. NutriPixel is a simpler tracker with a free plan, and Pro is ₹49 a month or ₹499 a year.

Two different kinds of app

Both apps log Indian food from a photo. The difference is what's built around it. HealthifyMe describes an AI coach called Ria that makes meal plans and answers questions, a library of recipes, a 100,000+ food database, and coach plans. NutriPixel is a calorie and macro tracker: photo, text and barcode logging, calories in vs. out, fasting, and tips on each meal. There's no coach to sell you.

Price in India

HealthifyMe's store lists the Healthify+ Plan, which includes Snap photo logging and Ria, at ₹2,500 for 12 months. NutriPixel Pro costs ₹499 a year, or ₹49 a month if you'd rather not commit, and NutriPixel's free plan works without paying at all.

Where HealthifyMe is better

  • An AI coach you can talk to. Ria makes meal plans, suggests what to eat and gives feedback on your day. NutriPixel gives a tip on each meal, but there's no chat.
  • Recipes and a food database. 10,000+ recipes with Healthify+, and 100,000+ foods to search. NutriPixel doesn't have a searchable database; it estimates from your photo or description, or uses the label for barcode scans.
  • Human coaching, if you want a coach to plan with you. Ask HealthifyMe for current coach plan prices.
  • More integrations, including Samsung Health, Garmin and Fitbit, and an iPhone app with Apple Health.

Where NutriPixel is different

  • A lower price, and a monthly option. Pro is ₹499 a year or ₹49 a month, with a 7-day free trial.
  • A clear free plan. 3 AI photo scans a day (up to 8 a week), unlimited voice and typed entries and unlimited barcode scans, with calories in vs. out and fasting included. No ads.
  • Food counted the way you eat it. Rotis by the piece, half a roti included; dal and rice by the bowl. See the Indian food calorie counter.
  • Free barcode scanning for namkeen, biscuits and drinks, with a rating based on FSSAI and UK FSA thresholds. See the barcode scanner.
  • Privacy by default. Meal photos are analyzed and not stored by NutriPixel, your meal log is stored on your phone first, and Health Connect data never leaves your phone.
  • Fasting built in, timed from your meals. See intermittent fasting.

Who should switch, and who shouldn't

NutriPixel is likely a better fit if you want to track Indian meals quickly and cheaply, you'd like a monthly plan or a free one, or you care about where your meal photos go.

Stay with HealthifyMe if you want an AI or human coach to plan your meals, you rely on its recipes or food search, or you use an iPhone, Garmin or Fitbit.

Switching from HealthifyMe

Set up NutriPixel with your age, height, weight, activity level and goal and it calculates your calorie and macro targets. NutriPixel can't import HealthifyMe history, so keep your old account if you want to look back at it.
